Scholarship Links
Due to the ever increasing cost of Higher Education, it is imperative that
students and families look to all sources for any available funding. While
students are applying for private educational loans, it is highly recommended
that they also explore as many scholarship avenues as possible. Schools can
always cancel loans or return private loan money to the lenders if scholarship
money becomes available.
Some important statistics¹ to keep in mind:
- Total private scholarship aid was estimated between $3.1 billion
and $3.3 billion dollars in 2003-2004
- Approximately 7% of all undergraduate students receive private
scholarships with an average value of $1982
- Total scholarship aid not awarded may be $100 million annually
