Our Story
TuitionChoice was formed through the insights and experience of seasoned
financial aid professionals to better answer the all-too-common question from
students, ‘Which student loan is the best one for me?’ That question has
continuously frustrated financial aid officers because
the current private
loan process leaves no room for the student to compare relevant information
between multiple lenders. Currently, students fill out one loan application
and if they are approved, they take it. If not, they continue the process
one lender at a time, never really knowing if the loan they accepted is the
best one for them.
Our team set out to develop a process that
would give students more specific loan information, from multiple lenders,
faster, and do it all simultaneously. We wanted to do away with the process
of offering loan ‘choices’ based simply on ranges or averages. We wanted to
stop asking the student to choose something based on general information that
had nothing to do with them personally.
We wanted the student to see and
understand their choices first…
and then choose.
If we could do that, then we would truly make “choosing the best loan option” easier.
Our extensive efforts and proprietary technology have resulted in a
process that does exactly what we set out to do. TuitionChoice provides
an easy, web-based tool that allows students to fill out only one loan
application and receive responses from multiple lenders based on that one
application. The responses, with specific rates, terms and fees, are
compiled in an easy-to-use grid, allowing each student to compare multiple
loan offers and then decide which loan option would be best.
TuitionChoice is not a lender and is available to students and schools
free of charge. We pride ourselves on working directly with the financial
aid office, acting as an extension of their team. Although we help to
provide private loans for students, we are committed to educating students
about all other aid options, federal and non-federal, scholarships, grants
and loans. Our site provides detailed information on topics ranging from
scholarship searches to understanding credit and creating a personal budget.
In doing so, we think our company offers exponential value to students and
schools alike.
TuitionChoice is an independent private company. We are not affiliated
with any lender nor do we receive special funding from any lender. We
view them all equally and have a set fee structure that does not vary
lender to lender. We do not pick and choose the lenders or schools that
we will work with. We will work with them all. We also don’t dictate to
the schools which lenders to use or not use. We let the schools pick their
lenders, as long as they are picked fairly and justly. We don’t share or
sell any applicant information to any businesses, lenders, or solicitors.
Because of our unique application system, we don’t even maintain that
information ourselves….so hackers beware! Even if you could get in, there
would be nothing to find.
